The Start of Homebase Technologies, Inc.

As owner of Homebase Technologies, Lorenzo Cricchio brings over 14 years of experience to every client he services. He has worked with NYC businesses in many industries including law firms, manufacturers, architects, and accountants, and understands the “system” needs of today’s small to mid-sized businesses.

Lorenzo’s interest in computers started just after graduating from Dowling College with a BA in Business Management. Positions in administration allowed him to become familiar with the office computers and how they worked. This was at a time when many businesses were just starting to understand the value of computers and there was a demand for people willing to take the lead.

Rather than getting involved with the functionality and daily use of the software, Lorenzo focused on troubleshooting on a deeper level in the "backend" or Operating System level. He began with DOS and has kept up with each new operating system since, from Windows 3.1 to today’s Windows Small Business Server for networks, and throw Novel 3.x and 4.x in the mix as well.

He created a new career for himself the more adept he became. He held IT positions at several of NYC’s top banks before taking a job as the Senior Network Engineer at a NYC computer consulting firm. During the six years he was with that firm he continued to expand his expertise as he was exposed to many different types of companies with many different types of technology requirements.

Lorenzo became more involved with the functionality of networks as they were evolving in business such as anti-virus software, anti-spyware software, firewalls, and other security hardware and software. He was on the cutting edge of each of these technologies as they moved from luxury to necessity.

In 1999 he had a great deal of hands-on experience with Y2K issues, and in 2001 he was instrumental in assisting businesses recover their technology and information from the 9/11 tragedy.

In 2004 Lorenzo went out on his own and started Homebase Technologies. Drawing on his 14 years of experience he has developed a grown the business to offer services including remote access capabilities, virus and spyware protection, email clients and servers, handheld integration, and office management software. Additionally, he also produces hardware specifications for servers, desktops, laptops, and all components required for a secure network.

Lorenzo continues to stay educated on the latest advancements in technology and offers his knowledge through personalized service to all his clients from the receptionist to the Partner / CEO / Owner
